IMPORTS
Importing your Pet to the UK
It's great to know that bringing pets into the UK is relatively straightforward, and there will be no quarantine requirements upon entry, provided the entry criteria have been met. General entry requirements for bringing pets into the UK under the Pet Travel Scheme (PETS) are as follows :
- Microchip: Pets must have an ISO compatible microchip for identification.
- Rabies Vaccination: Your pet must be vaccinated against Rabies at least 21 days before arrival (unless a booster). Depending on the country of origin, a Rabies Neutralising Antibody Test (RNATT) may also be necessary.
- Animal Health Certificate, Pet Passport or GB Health Certificate: Travel documents are essential for entry, whether it's the pet's return or the first time in the UK.
- Parasite Treatment: Dogs must receive an internal parasite treatment more than 24 hours, but not more than 5 days, before arriving in the UK.
Upon arrival in the UK, it is necessary to have an agent located here to organise customs clearance and payment of airline fees after your pet lands.
We can arrange for onward delivery of your pet in case you are unable to receive them at the airport upon arrival.
Services we provide for arrving pets!
As a UK clearing agent, we can assist with the last hurdle once your pet arrives into the UK. We will check your paperwork is in order before your pet arrives to ensure a seamless arrival procedure. We will arrange payment of all airline handling fees, animal reception fees and customs clearance, allowing you and your pet/s to be re-united as quickly as possible.
Customs Clearance
All pets arriving in to the UK arrive as manifested cargo, and therefore you require a broker to make the customs entries once your pet has arrived and been checked over in the animal reception centre. Your pet will not be released until customs clearance has been issued.
Airline Handling Fees
Depending on the airline your pet is travelling to the UK with, you will require an agent to pay the import fees and handling charges due upon arrival to the Animal Reception Centre. This fee includes collecting your pet from the plane, health check and vet inspection which is required.
Collection and Boarding
Should you not be available to collect your pet at the airport we can arrange collection and delivery to anywhere in the UK. Should the flight arrive late, or you want your pet to rest before travelling, we can arrange overnight boarding locally before beginning the journey home back to you!
