Taking Your Pet to Dubai and Abu Dhabi

The United Arab Emirates (UAE), a land of opulent skyscrapers, golden deserts, and rich cultural heritage, is an increasingly popular destination for expatriates and tourists alike. However, when it comes to bringing your four-legged companions along, there are specific guidelines and regulations governing the shipping of pets. Whether you are travelling to Dubai or Abu Dhabi there are the same entry requirements.

At Pets by Plane, our job is to take the strain out of the international travel process for you and your pet and let you get on with all the other things you need to do. We can help manage your pet's flight from the UK to the UAE from start to finish.

General Information, Entry Procedure and Requirements

Arranging your pets travel to the UAE is fairly straightforward as there are not blood tests required when travelling from the UK.

Both Cats and Dogs will need to have valid Rabies vaccination at the point of travel (or administered 21 days prior).

You will also be required to apply for an Import Permit from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCA), which usually takes around 10 working days. We work closely with trusted partners in Dubai and Abu Dhabi who can assist with the procurement of these.

The day before the flight you will also be required to have your vet complete the Export Health Certificate – don’t worry, we can assist and complete it at our facility close to the airport before the flight.

The UAE will require the following vaccinations, that must be valid at the point of departure and administered no longer than 12months prior. These will need to be shown either on the Passport or Vaccination History supplied by the Veterinarian to be able to apply for the Import Permit :
