General Information, Entry Procedure and Requirements

A rabies vaccination is not required for entry into Hong Kong, however Cats and Dogs must be up to date with vaccinations, and clearly shown in their vaccination card. For Cats, they must be vaccinated against Cat Flu and Enteritis whilst for Dogs its Distemper, Canine Hepatitis, and Canine Parvovirus. These must be administered at least 14 days prior to the flight and within the preceding 12 months.

Both Cats and Dogs must apply for an import (or special) permit from the Authorities in Hong Kong which will only be delivered to a local address. We recommend engaging one of our trusted partners in Hong Kong to make these applications on your behalf, as they will also deal with customs clearance and handling charges upon arrival - making it as stress free as possible for you.

Within the 10 days before the flight an official veterinarian is required to check the general health and wellbeing of your pet and fill out the final Export Health Certificate (EHC) which will travel with your pet on its journey.
