At Pets by Plane, our job is to take the strain out of international travel with your pets and let you get on with all the other things you need to do. We can help manage your pet's travel to Brazil from start to finish. We will maintain, as our absolute priority, your pet's health, happiness and calm well-being throughout their whole journey.
There are no import permits to apply for when travelling to Brazil so the only influence on the timefrane is whether your pet is vaccinated against Rabies or not. If they are, then we can arrange their travel quickly, in as little as a week. If they do not have a Rabies vaccination then they can travel 21 days afther the vaccine is adminstered.
Flight costs are based on the size of your pet's travel crate, which is determined by their measurements. This ensures your pet travels comfortably and safely, in compliance with IATA and airline regulations.
There are further costs to consider in Brazil, as it has high customs fees due upon arrival, all of which can be included as an option in our quote.
For a full quote and price breakdown, please complete a quote form and one of our team will be in touch shortly!
All pets must have a Rabies vaccine to travel to Brazil. If your pet already has a valid vaccination, administered within the past year, then there is no wating period before being able to travel. If they do not have a valid vaccination then there is a mandatory waiting period of 21 days before being able to travel.
It is worth noting that Brazil to not accept three year Rabies Vaccines, therefore despite having a valid vaccination your pet may need a booster before being able to travel, however in this case there would be no waiting period as this would be classified as a booster.
However, we still advise all pets to be vaccinated against Lepto, DHPP and Kennel Cough (Dogs) and FVRCP (Cats) for good measure, and these will be required should you wish to pre-board your pet with us.
The good news for is there are no blood tests required for Cats or Dogs, before travelling to the Brazil.
To enter Brazil your pet will need an Export Health Certificate, completed within 10 days of departure.
This must be completed by an Official Vet (OV) who ensures that your pet meets the entry requirements before the final sign-off. This then accompanies your pet on their journey, which will ensure they are permitted to enter the country without any delays!
We include the option for our airport vets to complete this at the airport before departure.

Provided the correct measures are put in place, then yes, we can transport many snub-nosed pets to the Brazil, but this will only be at specific times of the year when temperatures are lower.
Only 5% of snub-nosed pets suffer from BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airways Syndrome); therefore, with the correct preparation, we can ship many breeds of snub-nosed pets safely to Brazil. Find out more on our BOAS (Snub Nosed) page.
The only breeds banned from import into Brazil are Pit Bulls and crossbreeds of Pit Bulls.
